I am writing to Thank you so much for meeting with us on Monday.
Your advice & guidance have opened a new direction for us. I felt so comforted to know that when all seamed so bleak, a ray of hope & sunshine has come.Your centre is such a welcoming place. Excerpt from client letter.
A single parent who has grown up children living with her. She fled from another town where she had suffered domestic violence and her daughter sexual abuse. The daughter, who still suffers Post Traumatic Stress, has recently had a baby which she finds difficult to look after properly unless well supported by her mother.
Our client is trying to keep working and to build a career. Debts were building as she needed to take time ‘off work’ due to ‘stress’ and depression . Enforcement agents became involved and were calling at the home placing even more stress on an already intolerable situation. We negotiated a practical repayment plan with her debtors that our client can afford life is heading back in the right direction.
50+ year old with health issues who moved to Eastbourne to be with a new partner. Their relationship broke down and our client became homeless. Our client came to us for help with a Benefit Form relating to poor health issues, their benefit had been stopped due to them being unable to receive post because they were homeless. The client was in such a distressed state of mind at their first appointment that a member of staff had to take them to their GP. We helped our client with their housing situation working with Shelter and the local Housing Department. With our help the benefit issue has now been dealt with and a substantial back payment received amounting to more than £3,000. Our client said, “I don’t know what I would have done without you. Thanks so much for all you have done”
A married couple running a small and successful business when both began to experience poor health. This, coupled together with a ‘downturn’ in the economic climate meant they could no longer continue running a viable business and debt became a major problem. With our help their finances and debts were managed in such a way as to avoid Bankruptcy and losing their home. This has required long term support on our part which we have been happy to give .They have also benefited from our Counselling service. The combination of both our Counselling and Advice service also helped them to ‘stay together’ during this especially difficult time and the future is beginning to look brighter.
A Young couple with children, both working but struggling with budgeting and feeling under pressure. They wrote, “I cannot thank you all enough, especially ***** for his help and advice. He really saw us as a family struggling rather than a debt that needed clearing. It's obvious he truly does care about the service users he supports and gently, but firmly guides us in the right direction! His planning of our monthly expenditure has really helped us to see where the money goes and where we can adapt our budget. An on-going check so we don't relapse in the future has been really useful . A fantastic service, thank you so very much”.
"I felt overwhelmed with anxiety and fear and I could not cope with filling out the form due to short term memory issues.Without the help I received from your service I would not have managed to fill in the questions. The outcome was:From the lowest rate of DLA for mobility & care I was rewarded the highest rate of PIP for mobility & care for three years.Thank you for everything!"
