Having a job is an essential part of most people’s lives and for more than the obvious reason of just earning money.
People can be faced with many difficult situations at work, so it is important that a person knows their employment related ‘rights’.
We will help a you find out what you need to know about these ‘rights’ and how best to resolve a particular issue.
What if someone is unemployed and looking for work? We are willing to help you identify what courses of action are open to you and how they may possibly affect other aspects of your life.
We work closely with People Matter, a local charity who specialise in helping people look for work, return to work and access training opportunities.
Although the centre is unable to give legal advice, we can direct clients regarding where to get help with specific issues. These may include employment issues, pension queries, probate etc.
There is some free legal advice available locally and we will do our best to point people in the right direction where we can.
"That has really taken a strain off me. You don't usually find people that are ready to help like that" (overheard as a client left the centre talking to a friend)
“an invaluable, diverse service of help, information and advice for the local community”. (Professional colleague)
